Dear Byword Listeners and Supporters,

We want to share with you a recent development in the band. As of August 1st, Brent has permanently left Byword and is looking forward to the plans God has for him, whatever they may be. It has been our prayer that, when the time came for one or all of us to leave the band, God would make it extremely clear and there would be peace on all sides. It may seem cliché and you may question our sincerity, but at the conclusion of a meeting in early July, we were surprised at the calm and excitement we shared for the future of both parties. None of Brent’s reasons for leaving are because of bitterness or conflict. He simply concluded he was unable to give the amount of time and heart he felt this ministry needs. We echoed his feelings and were so thankful for the God’s affirmation.
Brent will be moving out of North Idaho, continuing to invest in his relationship with his girlfriend, and exploring different employment and educational opportunities. The band is more excited than ever to press ahead. The traveling, recording, and encouragement we’ve experienced this year has only inspired us to forge ahead, and we are so thankful for God’s continued blessings upon this ministry.
One of the most reassuring parts about this new chapter for Brent and the band is the commitment on all sides to continue our friendships. We are so thankful for his relationship and all that has he has poured into this ministry over the last four and a half years. We are also very enthusiastic to see what ministries God leads him to next.
Since the first of the month, the band has played with a couple different bass players. We are continuing to pray for God’s provision and direction for whom we will use in the future. With all that’s ahead for Brent and the band, would you continue to keep us in prayer in our transition? We are so grateful for the phenomenal blessing and support you are and have been.
